Summary:Louis Charbonneau was an an author who wrote western, science fiction and mystery novels and who also served in the U.S. Air Force in WWII, was a teacher and wrote for the Los Angeles Times. The collection includes correspondence, books, short stories, poetry, movie, television and radio scripts, and book length manuscripts.

Summary:Damon Francis Knight (1922-2002) was a well-known editor, author, and critic in the field of science fiction. He was instrumental in establishing the Milford writers’ conference and the Clarion writers’ workshops. His book on creative writing, first published in 1981 is still in print. But, he also wrote puns, poems, television and radio scripts, western and detective fiction, biographical and autobiographical works, and an analysis of the artwork of Hieronymus Bosch. The collection contains personal and business correspondence, manuscripts, documents, photos and memorabilia dating from Damon Knight’s grandparents’ era, the Spanish American war, to his death in 2002.

Summary:Alice B. Sheldon, pen name James Tiptree, Jr. (1915-1987), was a much acclaimed science fiction author, publishing from 1968 to 1987. She was also briefly a painter, an art reviewer for the Chicago Sun, a chicken farmer, and a CIA analyst. She earned a doctorate in experimental psychology, and corresponded with and reviewed the work of several well-known psychologists. This collection contains correspondence, drawings, manuscripts, and her writing, from childhood to her death, in all of these areas.

Summary:Arthur G. Stangland (1908-1990) and Artie Stangland/Artie Appleton (1910-1995) were a pair of married writers who lived in Astoria, Oregon. The collection consists of manuscripts and some published copies of stories by both authors, as well as some correspondence.
