Orval Etter is a former professor at the University of Oregon who founded the Pacifica Forum in 1994. He was a professor of planning, public policy and management. He was also a pacifist, and was a conscientious objector during World War II. The collection includes information on the Pacifica Forum and the Emerald Chamber Players including articles, newsletters, writings by Etter, material on the Fellowship of Reconciliation, and subject files.
The University of Oregon's Music department was founded in 1886, was reorganized as the School of Music in 1900, and merged with the Department of Dance in 1991, and in 2005 was formally designated as the School of Music and Dance. The collection contains records that document the functions and activities of the old School of Music, Department of Dance, and the new School of Music and Dance.
