The McMinnville (Oregon) Ladies’ Sanitary Aid Society was founded in 1863 to support Union troops by providing volunteer support and raising money. The collection (1861-1865; 1961) contains a secretary's book, a treasurer's book, annual report, constitution and bylaws, meeting minutes, Juvenile Sanitary Society information, correspondence, receipts, and a story regarding the society.
Oregon Infantry, 1st Regiment, Company B, was part of the Oregon Volunteer's regiment during the American Civil War. The collection (1864-1867) contains letters received and sent by Captain Ephraim Palmer, and also financial records and "monthly returns."
The collection contains a letter that certifies the Union sympathies of two men from Oregon, signed by T. J. Smith, on January 26, 1870. The letter states that Robert Lodd [Ladd?] of Portland, Oregon and Alex A. Miller of Jacksonville, Oregon are not a part of any rebellion.
