Biographical NoteReturn to Top
A native of Utah, Samuel E. Jorgenson graduated from USU with a degree in forestry in 1937. He is one of a number of sterling alumni of the College of Natural Resources. He started his professional career with the U.S. Biological Survey in 1940, later transferring to the Wildlife Research Branch, before entering the armed forces during WW II. Following his discharge in 1945 he resumed his work as a biologist for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, eventually being promoted to the position of Regional Chief for the Bureau of Sport Fisheries.

These papers were ostensibly donated to the Quinney Natural Resources Library by Mr. Jorgenson. They were accessioned into University Archives in 2012. They consist of correspondence, newspaper clippings, and awards and honors documenting the career of of Mr. Jorgenson.
