Typed on verso: Coulee Dam School District #401 of Okanogan County, Wash. This is the new Central Elementary School. This building has beautiful square classrooms and a very modern hot lunch set-up. Grand Coulee would be glad to settle for a new grade school like either of the grade schools in Coulee Dam.

1 5 Columbia Elementary School

1 9 Grand Coulee Center School
Typed on verso: Grand Coulee School District #855-201-20-18 of Grant, Douglas and Lincoln Counties, Wash. This is the building that should be replaced immediately. It houses over 400 grade school children. It is a temporary, poorly constructed building. If you will but visualize yourself in one of the 2nd floor classrooms in case of a fire, you will quickly understand what a terrible firetrap this building really is. The Quanset hut affair is the only Gymnasium-Auditorium facility the Grand Coulee District has for its 800 children.

1 10 Grand Coulee Center School
Typed on verso: Grand Coulee School District #855-201-20-18 of Grant, Douglas and Lincoln Counties, Wash. Another view of the Center School. Notice the narrow halls and the wooden fire escapes. These features help to make this building a real firetrap.

1 12 Grand Coulee High School
Typed on verso: Grand Coulee School District #855-201-20-18 of Grant, Douglas and Lincoln Counties, Wash. The Gymnasium-Auditorium was cut from this building because of lack of funds. This building was financed with $19,250 Bond Issue on the Local District and 40 mills extra building levy, plus a State Grant of $179,653.37. We need $150,000 to complete this building.
