Biographical NoteReturn to Top

Joanne Temcov was an activist with the Coalition of Labor Union Women (CLUW) during 1974 and 1977-1978. Afterwards, she stayed connected with the organization even though she was no longer a member of a union, but CLUW leader Irene Hull insisted she stay involved.

Notebook relating to Temcov's membership and activism in the Coalition of Labor Union Women and from presentations she gave on unequal wages between male and female workers in the 1970s and 1980s. Included are CLUW mailings, newsletters, meeting minutes and conference reports, subject files on women's issues as they relate to employment, CLUW buttons and stickers, and a DVD of images of presentation charts.

CLUW is a national organization for union women. Formed in 1974, CLUW is a nonpartisan organization within the union movement, with the mission of "unify[ing] all union women in a viable organization to determine our common problems and concerns and to develop action programs within the framework of our unions to deal effectively with our objectives."
