Album of photographs put out by Carstens Packing Company in 1909. It includes a portrait (probably of the President of the company), overviews of the stockyards and company buildings, the general office, portraits of steers that were shown in the Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition (AYPE) in Seattle, work inside the plant--beef being butchered and hanging in the cooler, pigs and sheep being butchered, rendering room, oleo department, lard refinery, salting cellars, smoked meat packing room, sausage making area, shipping dock, machine shop, glue factory, and dining hall. Many of the photographs include women working in the plant.
