Biographical NoteReturn to Top

Emma Ness was born in Douglas, Alaska on May 24, 1919. She was the daughter of Capt. Tom Ness. She entered the University of Washington in 1936 as part of the College of Arts and Sciences. She had won the annual Business and Professional Women's college scholarship award. During her time at UW, she was a member of a sorority and frequently attended plays and music performances at UW and in Seattle.
