Biographical NoteReturn to Top

Bernice Gellatly Greene was a huge advocate of Wenatchi Indians, writing many papers and researching information to provide to the public. Born in 1901, she is most well-known for her work called 'The Story of John A. Gellatly'. This story is about her father, a former Republican politican who served as the tenth Lieutenant Governor of Washington and four-term mayor of Wenatchi, Washington. Her mother is Loretta "Laura" Josephine McDonald. She married James Martin Greene and had 1 child. She passed away on April 30, 1997 in Enumclaw, King, Washington.
