The Loyal Legion of Loggers and Lumbermen (Four L) was a "company union" created by Brice P. Disque, in 1917 (Mickelson).

Other men involved in the formation of the union were Charles T. Early, George Gerlinger, A. C. Dixon, and G. F. Hagenbush.

Brice P. Disque was in charge of the Spruce Production Division of the Bureau of Aircraft Production, and served as as the President of the United States Spruce Production Corporation, 1917-1919.

Corporate records include articles of incorporation, by-laws, constitutions, preamble and amendments to constitutions, lists of officers and Board of Directors, and Board of Director's meeting minutes (1919-1936; 1936-1937).

Other minutes include Central Council meetings (1918), and Portland convention (December 6, 1918).

Also included are proceedings of Conventions in Spokane (December 9, 1918) and in Portland (January 6, 1919), and also a report of the 36th Semi-Annual Meeting of the 4L Board of Directors (November, 1936).

There is one folder containing two letters, and one folder of publications. Publications include two regarding the history of the union, one regarding camp sanitation (possibly regarding the Spruce Corporation work camps), a copy of the National Labor Relations act, and minutes of a meeting of the West Coast Lumbermen's Association (November 16, 1918).
