This collection contains photographic negatives and copy negatives of early motion picture celebrities. Many of these film personalities began their careers during the silent film era. Some, such as Lionel Barrymore, successfully made the switch to talkies. Many of these negatives are signed by the celebrities and were probably used to make publicity photographs.
