According to the University of Oregon’s Extension center catalogue (1955-1956), KOAC radio station is owned by the state of Oregon but managed by the State Board of Higher Education.

The station is located in Corvallis at Oregon State University, who was the licensee and operator of the physical plant. The General Extension Division of the State System of Higher Education directs the program service. Studios are located at Corvallis, Eugene, Monmouth, Portland, and Salem.

Program talent is drawn from multiple Oregon colleges and universities and from various departments of state government.

The collection contains programs and transcripts of radio addresses concerning ancient history in Oregon and the Museum of Natural History (1938-1939), and also radio scripts from 1936 and 1946.

The collection is organized by accession and material includes, but is not limited to, the following:

Accession 1996.223.A: consists of a KOAC radio schedule (1938-1939), programs, transcripts and articles of radio addresses regarding Oregon's ancient history and the Museum of Natural History. There are addresses and articles by R. R Huestis, H. B. Yocum, and Alex Krieger.

Accession 10199.A: consists of KOAC-KEX material separated from an accession of Office of the President records. Material consists of radio scripts from 1936 and 1946.
