In 1939, the sisterhood was organized by Congregation Bikur Cholim as Bikur Cholim Sisterhood, but with the reorganization of the congregation in 1972 the name was changed to Sisterhood of Bikur Cholim Machzikay Hadath.

The booklet also includes some essays of the history of the BCMH Sisterhood.
