Historical NoteReturn to Top

R. Lloyd Snedaker (1905-1989) attended the University of Utah (1923-1925), University of Michigan (Bachelor of Architectural Engineering, 1925-1928), and Harvard University (Masters of Architecture, 1928-1931). He later designed many residences and buildings for a number of prominent Utahns. In addition to this, he was also very involved in the American Institute of Architecture (AIA) on the local and national levels. Snedaker served as the local chapter president in 1945, and in 1965 he was named a member of the AIA's College of Fellows.

The R. Lloyd Snedaker papers (1921-1994) contains correspondence, business records, AIA awards and speeches, records and architectural drawings of building projects. Most of the projects are residences and businesses in Salt Lake City. Presentation drawings completed while at Harvard University and student drawings from East High School in Salt Lake City and from the University of Michigan are also included.
