The collection contains bank correspondence, personal and family correspondence, a travel diary, memorial letters, and a photograph album.

There are six folders of correspondence. One folder contains Stockgrowers & Farmers National Bank correspondence (1933-1934) and includes receivers receipts. The bulk of the correspondence (1917-1919) consists of letters exchanged among McDaniel family members including Donald, Lawton, and Mrs. Charles McDaniel. Letters from Lawton McDaniel were written when he was a student at the University of Oregon (1917-1919).

There is one folder of miscellaneous correspondence which includes letters in memoriam regarding Charles McDaniel. The collection also contains a travel diary (1934).

There is also an album of photographs containing scenes in and about Plummer, Idaho (1915). The album is separated from the rest of the collection for preservation reasons and is stored under the call number PH222.
