Tape-recorded interview conducted by Cyril Leonoff and Meta Buttnick on 8/24/87.
This interview records all the information that Helen Rosen has about the Grunbaum family and then the interviewers supplied facts gleaned from documents. Helen's memories and these facts provide a complete account of the history of Henry Grunbaum's family from the time they left Austria, through the time spent in Victoria and its surroundings, and of the move to Seattle and the years spent there. Helen also records the history of her mother, Hannah Shonacker Grunbaum from Chicago, and the history of the Shonacker family in Chicago and Shonacker pianos. Her husband is William Rosen, an owner of Alaska Copper which his father, Morris Rosen, founded. Helen reports on the history of this industrial empire.
