Historical NoteReturn to Top

The School of Journalism was founded at what is now The University of Montana-Missoula in 1914. In 1930, Journalism acquired a “mechanical laboratory,” or printing press, and added instruction in the use of type and typographical composition to the curriculum. The university printing press was housed in Journalism until the mid 1990s.
