Content DescriptionReturn to Top

The photographs in this collection document part of the life of Martin Zwick but also cover a period of history of the Utah Symphony Orchestra and famous Symphony guests. The images document the early life of Martin Zwick in the U.S. Army band and Zwick with family and friends. The collection then goes immediately into a detailed incorporation of images of the Utah Symphony that Martin Zwick took as a member of the Symphony including such names as Abravanel, Copeland, and many other conductors as well as violinists, pianists, cellists, and singers. Also portrayed are images of the Ballet in Utah by Martin Zwick. Some later photographs show Martin Zwick's interest in the architecture of Salt Lake City and surrounding areas such as Heber City. The collection also contains several pages of slides of various related subjects all taken by Martin Zwick. The collection also contains a vast amount of unprinted negatives, some of which have matching contact sheets, all of which are in fairly good condition. The photographs are in fair condition with some bent and many of them written on, however most of the writing is autographs of famous Symphony personalities
