Selucius Garfielde was born in 1822 and died in 1881. He served as Surveyor General of the Washington Territory from 1866-1869 and territorial delegate to Congress from 1869-1872.

Accession No. 4735-001: Selucius Garfielde correspondence, 1866-1872Return to Top
Scope and Content: Correspondence.
Folder 1 contains letter from J. Gregory Smith, President, Northern Pacific Railroad and two outgoing letters; 1866, 1869, 1870. Folder 2 contains a letter to Garfielde from Ezra Smith, Olympia, Wash. (4 pages), 11 May 1870. Folder 3 contains letter from John C. Callbreath to Francis Tarbell, intended to discourage Garfielde from recommending Louis P. Beach for public office, Soda Creek, (5 pages) 26 May 1872.
