Phillip Levine graduated from the University of Washington with an MFA in Sculpture. He creates mostly figurative bronze sculptures, with influence from myths, dance, sports, literature, and social issues. One of his most recognizable works is "Dancer with a Flat Hat" (1971) which is located on the University of Washington campus on the landing steps that lead from Schmitz Hall to the Henry Gallery. He received the Washington State Governor’s Arts Award, Cultural Enrichment in 1997. Levine’s sculptures have been displayed in museums, and corporate and private collections in the Northwest.
