Historical NoteReturn to Top

The Department of Building Construction had its administrative roots in the College of Arts and Sciences in the 1950's. In 1962, the University transferred the department to the College of Architecture and Urban Planning, where it was reorganized and given the new title of Building Technology and Administration. In 1966, the name was changed to the Department of Building Construction and, on July 1st, 1996, to the Department of Construction Management. Courses offered by the Department prepare students for technical positions, senior management, and business ownership in construction. The masters program addresses the need for advanced technological, management, and applied research skills in various construction and facilities management occupations.
