Tape-recorded interview in Ladino by Leni LaMarche, with a translation on tape by L. LaMarche.

Mrs. Menashe grew up on the Island of Rhodes. She immigrated to the U.S. in 1919 and talks about the experience and the journey. Matilda talked about the ways she worked for Israel, the beginning of Congregation Machzikay Hadath, and her experience in becoming a United States Citizen. She also talked about how her husband's sickness in the last years of his life was helped by keeping busy making the traditional candy, lecume.
