Biographical NoteReturn to Top

Bryan Bayles earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Davidson College, his Master of Arts from the University of Texas-Austin, his Ph.D. from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and his Master of Public Health from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. He has worked as the Curator of Anthropology and Health at The Witte Museum in San Antonio, Texas, and has been on the faculty at the University of Texas at San Antonio, San Antonio College, and Our Lady of the Lake University. His research focuses on health, particularly in children, Mexican Americans, and Tojolab'al Mayans.

Audio recordings related to Bryan Bayles' research for "Reproductive Health Narratives of Tojolab'al Mayans." Some of the recordings were conducted in the town of Napite in the state of Chiapas, Mexico. This research was partially funded by the Jacobs Research Fund.
