Biographical NoteReturn to Top

John R. Price was a University of Washington professor of law. Price taught in the University of Washington School of Law from 1969 until becoming professor emeritus in 1997. He also served as Dean of the School of Law from 1982-1989. He received a B.A. from the University of Florida in 1958, and an LL.B. from the New York University School of Law in 1961. Price's principal areas of practice included community property, trusts and estates, federal taxation and tax planning, and ethics and professional responsibility.

Meeting notices, agendas, minutes, correspondence, reports and subject files relating to Price's tenure as chairman and member of the President's Advisory Committee on Retirement, and the Faculty Governance Committee: 1973-1980. The President's Advisory Committee on Retirement was initially referred to as the Ad Hoc Committee on Retirement, a name that Price continued to use in labeling his files.

Also includes documents relating to the following topics: a memorial to Dr. Solomon Katz, transfer of the Sand Point Naval Air Station property to the City of Seattle, playground safety, school crossing safety, state inheritance tax policy, and opposition to a bill limiting the powers of the Washington Attorney General.
