Content DescriptionReturn to Top
This collection consists of the personal photographs and books of remembrance of Andrew L. Heggie and his wife Corinne Godfrey Heggie spanning from the late nineteenth century through the 1990s. A photographic record of LDS missions, LDS church activity, family, and friends are also included. Because of the nature of the books, many documents such as Birth certificates, school certificates, greeting cards, weddings announcements, and personal reminiscences are also included
While the photos are identified, they do not appear to be in any particular order. The photographs are principally snapshots taken by Andrew and Corinne. Some professional photographs are included, usually in the form of missionary and engagement portraits. All descriptions entered in full quotations (" ") are taken directly from the albums. The photos are maintained in their original order and mounting. Andrew Heggie's book of remembrance has been removed from its cover with the original pages (in the original sleeves) in acid-free folders

Andrew L. Heggie - Missionary Photo Album, undatedReturn to Top
This is a book of photos taken around the time of Andrew L. Heggie's LDS mission to Germany and Switzerland. The time period covers approximately 1925-1930. Prior to the time of his mission, there are several photos of family and friends in and around Clarkston. Included in the photos of his mission are the following: missionary portraits, snapshots of missionaries, pictures of missionary groups, and photos of families and acquaintances from his mission area. Worth noting in this book are the many photographs (pre-World War II) of the cities in which Andrew Heggie served. Heidelberg, Darmstadt, Goderheim, and Worms are all included in this group of photos. The photographs in this book are glued onto brown construction paper. Phrases in full quotation marks (" ") are taken directly from the album. Many of the inscriptions below the pictures in this album are in German. All German words, except for place names and the word 'Gemeinde,' meaning a parish or congregation, will be italicized.
Photographs 03:125-133 following are all from the Dortmund Branch, Germany, 1929-30. Photographs 03:187-190 of the frozen Rhine River. "A sight which was even new to many Germans. Photographs 03:239 through 03:259 following are of the Swiss-German Mission and missionaries, 1928-9. Photographs 03:275 through 03:292 are of the Swiss-German Mission area, 1929.
