Biographical NoteReturn to Top

Ralph S. Kelley resigned his post as chief of the field division of the General Land Office, Department of the Interior, in 1930. In a letter to Secretary Wilbur he alleged that oil shale lands of a potential value of forty billion dollars are being parcelled out, often illegally, to private interests by the government.

The Robert Pruitt report collection conists of parts I and II titled, "Report of the Assistant United States Attoney General into the Charges of Ralph S. Kelley Respecting the Administration of Oil Shale Lands." Part I contains the text of the Assistant Attorney General's report. Part II contains a collection of Ralph Kelley newspaper reports.
