The subject of the collection is paved roads and highways, with special attention to medial channelization, two-way left turn lanes, sign installation, and access lanes. The photographs are dated from the 1960s and some appear to be related to the construction of Interstate 5 and State Route 99. They were taken in western Washington and cover state routes, highways, interstates, U.S. routes, and city streets. Included are views of the town of Lacey and the cities of Everett and Seattle (University Village).
This collection of photographs seems to have been part of a Washington State (or western Washington) civil engineering report or project. The photographs are mounted on pages in groups of three, with notes to the side. The pages contain the original numbering; however, they are not numbered consecutively. It appears these pages were pulled from a larger document.
