The 1972 Poetry Score Folio contains "A Note on Forrest Anderson" that explains that poetry by Forrest Anderson has been widely published over the years. It includes selections of his work in some fifty avant-garde publications across the United States and in several countries overseas, representative poetry in twelve anthologies, and six separate books. For this creativity he has been honored by many mentions and memberships in literary societies, including The Academy of American Poets in New York. He is listed in Who's Who in London and was a made a Laureate of L'Academie Litteraire de France.

This collection consists of letters between Forrest Anderson and the University of Idaho library discussing the possibility of the library as a repository for his published poetry. Mr. Anderson corresponded with Charles Webbert, head of Special Collections and Archives. Two works of original poetry are attached to one of the letters. Also included is a file of Anderson family genealogy, which includes correspondence, tracing Anderson's family back to Thomas Baird, who was believed to have been a son or grandson of one of the original colonists traveling to America on board the Mayflower. The collection also includes 14 books or anthologies containing Forrest Anderson's published works.
