Biographical NoteReturn to Top
John Weisheit was born in 1954 in Los Angeles, California. After growing up in Whittier California and Phoenix Arizona, he moved to Moab Utah in 1987. He married Susette Renea DeCoster in 1990. In addition to his guide job, he serves on non-profit boards such as the Canyonlands Field Institute and the Colorado Plateau River Guides. He is currently writing a book on Cataract Canyon with Dr. Robert H. Webb and Dr. Jayne Belnap of the U.S. Geological Service.
