Biographical NoteReturn to Top
Doernbecher Memorial Children's Hospital was created through a charitable trust established by local furniture manufacturer Frank Silas Doernbecher, of the Doernbecher Manufacturing Company. The hospital was opened in 1926 on Portland's Marquam Hill and was part of the University of Oregon Medical School, which became Oregon Health & Science University.
