Biographical NoteReturn to Top

Virginia Westberg, married to Alfred J. Westberg, was chairperson of the Mount Baker Day unit of the League of Women Voters of Seattle during the years 1959-1961. She was also the Seattle Project Director for Women in Community Service, Inc. from 1965-1966. Women in Community Service was partially funded by the Office of Economic Opportunity to recruit young women for the Women's Job Corps.

The papers in this collection have been arranged in series reflecting Mrs. Westberg's participation in the League of Women Voters and teh Women in Community Service. The papers in the League of Women Voters series include: correspondence (1959-1960), newsletters (1959-1961), financial records (1961-1962), and Unit study guides (1955-1961). The papers in the Women in Community Service series include: correspondence (1966), minutes and supporting papers (1965-1966), and handbooks, reports and fact sheets of the U.S. Job Corps (1966).
