- The Antoine R. Ivins papers (1878-1978) consists of a typescript of a diary which Ivins kept while president of the Mexican Mission of the LDS Church from 1931 to 1933. Included are telegrams, clippings, and letters that are often commented on in corresponding entries or on which Ivins typed comments. The diary comments on Ivins' interactions with other LDS Church officials, his trips to various cities within the Mexican Mission (in Mexico and the southwestern United States), and practical details of his activities. Also included are LDS Church certificates and some business correspondence and notes related to the management of the sugar plantation in Hawaii. Antoine R. Ivins was the son of Anthony Woodward Ivins. He was manager of the LDS Church's sugar plantation in Laie, Oahu, Hawaii (1921-1931) and president of the LDS Mexican Mission (1931-1933).

Ivins was born May 11, 1881 in St. George, Utah, to Anthony Woodward Ivins and Elizabeth Ashby Snow. As a young man Ivins moved with his family to Mexico in 1896. On June 26, 1912 he married Vilate Ellen Romney in Salt Lake City. Ivins' father was heavily involved with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS), becoming first counselor in the First Presidency. Like his father, Antoine Ivins participated actively in church affairs. From 1921-1931 he managed the LDS Church's sugar cane plantation in Laie, Oahu, Hawaii.

The Antoine R. Ivins papers (1878-1978) include a typescript of a journal which Ivins kept from the time he was called to be president of the Mexican Mission and a member of the LDS Church's First Council of Seventies in 1931 until December 1933. Mixed in with Ivins' journal entries are telegrams, news clippings, and letters that are often commented on in corresponding entries or on which Ivins typed comments. The journal comments on Ivins' interactions with other LDS Church officials, his trips to various cities within the Mexican Mission (in Mexico and the southwestern United States), as well as practical details such as gas mileage, hotel conditions, and dinner arrangements. A less thorough scrapbook, made up of correspondence, an itinerary, invitations, and news clippings, details a tour of the LDS North Central States Mission made by Ivins in 1952. The other documents in the collection are chiefly church certificates received in conjunction with Ivins' marriage, missionary work, and other church participation (Ivins' "Last Will and Testament" is also included). The first folder of the collection contains documents and correspondence (principally about fertilizer) dealing with the Laie Plantation, where Ivins was when he was called to head the LDS Mexican Mission. Ivins died in 1967. A single copy of the October 4, 1878, St. George, Utah newspaper, The Union, has been added to the collection as well.
