Yaw Amponsah is a master percussionist from Ghana, West Africa. A versatile player, Yaw can play many styles of music from Ghana including Highlife, Agbadja, and Kpanlogo. His specialty is the music of the multi-part percussion ensembles of the Ashanti people. These sets of drums and corresponding rhythms can be made up of eight or more independent percussion parts. He is the leader of Anokye Agofomma and a member of Manghis Khan quartet.

Bart Komoah graduated with an M.A. in Ethnomusicology from the University of Washington in 2010.

Bon­nie McConnell is a PhD can­di­date in eth­no­mu­si­col­ogy at the Uni­ver­sity of Wash­ing­ton. Her dis­ser­ta­tion focuses on music and health in The Gam­bia, bring­ing together per­spec­tives from med­ical eth­no­mu­si­col­ogy, global health and devel­op­ment, and per­for­mance the­ory.
