The University of Washington Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) serves to promote student learning by supporting and strengthening the UW teaching community. The Center works with individuals and groups, as well as in collaboration with campus partners, to share knowledge of best practices and evidence-based research on teaching, learning, and mentoring. CTL staff consult with faculty members, staff educators, graduate student instructors, as well as graduate and undergraduate teaching assistants on questions about teaching and learning. CTL also consults with UW departments, schools, colleges, and programs on questions related to teaching and learning that go beyond the boundaries of individual courses.
The Center for Teaching and Learning was previously named the UW Center for Instructional Development and Research (CIDR). The CTL is a unit of the University of Washington Graduate School.
