Collection includes:Typescript monograph with research data by Edmund Hayes, July 6-September 13, 1968, regarding his explorations to find the wreck of the ship Tonquin; Photocopy extracts from the George Davidson Papers, 1890-1896, including letters from John Devereux (Dock Master, Graving Dock, Esquinalt, B.C.), Reverend A. G. Brabant (Catholic Missionary, Hesquiat, B.C) and George Blenkinship of Vancouver Island, concerning West Coast maritime incidents of the early 1800s and especially the location of the wreck of the Tonquin, with letter of transmittal; Oversize folder contains photocopy lists of officers and registry papers of the ship Tonquin and the frigate Constitution, 1807-1810.
