William Ward Miller was born on May 15, 1903 in Illinois. He worked as a police officer in Seattle, Washington, where he lived with his wife, Martha. He died on November 20, 1983 in Seattle.

1/1	1	Tlingit Totem Pole at Pioneer Square in Seattle, Washington In 1899, a group of businessmen removed a Tlingit totem pole from a village in Alaska and placed it in Pioneer Square. An arsonist burned it down in 1938, after which the city sent the remaining pieces back to the tribe. The tribe then carved a new totem pole and sent it to Seattle after being paid for the original. The totem pole still stands today.	circa 1951-1954
