Scope and Content: Financial records of Herzl Synagogue and printed items regarding the Hillel Foundation at the University of Washington.

Items describe the first year activities of the B'nai B'rith Hillel Foundation chapter established at the University of Washington. The Herzl items are financial statements.

Scope and Content: Tape recorded interview conducted by Isabel Stusser and Meta Buttnick on 2 Nov 1989 with transcript. Also included in this accession are two letters (1931-1934) and a prayer book.

Charles Jassen discusses his father, the Reverend William Jassen, as well as his own activities.

Scope and Content: Tape recording dubbed from originals of 1941 and 1948, script for introduction; 1990.

Originals: KING radio broadcast of Friday evening service from Herzl Congregation, 17 Dec 1948 and Friday evening service at B'nai B'rith Hillel Foundation, University of Washington, 14 Feb 1941. Charles Jassen was a choir member for the former and was Cantor for the latter. Eric Offenbacher's script for his introduction gives detailed background information.
