Tape recorded interview conducted by Fannie Roberts on 1 Aug 1979.
Kahn belonged to the following Jewish organizations: Maccabeus and Hashara in Havelberg near Berlin in 1938, when he hoped to emigrate to Israel. He was living in Laubenheim on September 1, 1939 and went to Cologne at the end of 1939. He describes the beginning of Nazi rule, his placement in detention camp and moves to other camps, the loss of his parents and his eventual liberation. He describes his feelings as a young boy and man. He was in the following camps: Salaspiltz, 1941; Mulgraben, 1943-44; Stutthof, 1944; Lauenburg, 1945; and Gottendorf-Lanz. He was liberated March 10, 1945. He was not a partisan.
