Content DescriptionReturn to Top

Promotional brochures advertising business and travel opportunities throughout the Pacific Northwest, including Alaska, British Columbia, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, and California; many brochures include color and black & white illustrations. The bulk of material describes Oregon and Washington cities, counties, hotels, resorts, and parks, and date from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Many of the most elaborate brochures were produced in collaboration with the Sunset Homeseekers Bureau (also known as the Bureau of Community Publicity), a subsidiary of the Southern Pacific Railroad.
