Ye Galleon Press was established in 1935 in Fairfield, Washington, by editor Glen Adams. The company developed into a publisher of historic manuscripts and other historic texts in 1964. By 1990, the press had published approximately 486 books focused on the history of the Pacific Northwest.

Biographical NoteReturn to Top

Glen Adams was born and raised in Fairfield, Washington, where he graduated from Fairfield High School in 1931. While establishing and running Ye Galleon Press, he attended college in Cheney, Washington. Adams was named an honorary faculty member in the Department of History at Eastern Washington University in 1983. He was among the 100 people selected for the Washington State Centennial Hall of Honor, and he received an honorary doctorate in Letters from Gonzaga University in 1990, all in recognition for his work in publishing primary sources related to Pacific Northwest history.
