Biographical NoteReturn to Top

Pedro Bacán (1952-1997) was a guitarist and composer from Lebrija, Spain. As a child, he attended a religious school run by nuns called La Caridad. Around the age of 13, he became fascinated by his cousin Antonio's guitar playing and asked his mother to buy him his own guitar. Early on, he studied under a teacher called Penaca, and after this he learned the flamenco technique from his cousin Pedro. He performed his flamenco music around the world but was particularly popular in France, which later became his second home.
