Biographical NoteReturn to Top

Vernon Louis Parrington (1871-1929) was a football coach and a historian with a progressive view of history. He was the head coach of the University of Oklahoma football team from 1897-1900. He was fired from the University of Oklahoma in 1908, and joined the faculty of the University of Washington that same year.
