The Peninsular Land Company of Alderton, Wash., was a family business owned by Miles F. Hatch of Alderton and his brothers Fred L. and Frank W. Hatch of Illinois. It was run by Miles' son, Lewis M. Hatch. Lewis Hatch was a farmer who produced fruit in the Puyallup Valley at the small settlement of Alderton. He was president of the Puyallup and Sumner Fruit Growers Association. The business incorporated in 1912 and dissolved in 1938.

Letters and legal documents.
Most of the correspondence was written by Lewis Hatch, who ran the family business that sold land on Vashon Island.
These papers were originally part of the Schweppe law firm records accessioned as Struve, Allen, Hughes and McMicken.
