Biographical NoteReturn to Top

Cheryl Waldbaum was born in Scottsbluff, Nebraska on August 1, 1953. She studied nursing in school and converted to Judaism upon her marriage. In 1983, she and her husband moved to Washington State and subsequently settled in Everett where they became active members and leaders of the Jewish community.

Waldbaum provides a detailed account of the history of Temple Beth Or in Everett, including its relationship with the orthodox Moses Montefiore Synagogue and its ultimate merger as a Reform Temple, its building remodeling and property acquisition, the changing demographics of the congregation, along with the educational and social activities of the Temple.
