Documents concerning Rabbinical ordination, ca.1920s; tape-recorded reminiscence with transcript, 1981.
The three documents are photocopies of handwritten messages in Hebrew from Chief Rabbis concerning the Semichot (Rabbinical ordination) of Solomon Wohlgelernter, rabbi of Bikur Cholim, 1930-1947.
The tape-recorded reminiscence by his son, Samuel Wohlgelernter, tells how his father and mother met and married. The tape also related how his father came to the United States, and then to Canada, and how he came to have three smikhas, ordination papers.
