Historical NoteReturn to Top

Sylvester Farrell (1833-1909) was born in Canada, and moved to Portland, Oregon in 1867. He partnered with Richard Everding, and they incorporated a "wholesale produce and commission business. After some years the firm also became identified with logging and with the salmon packing industry." Farrell's son, Robert S., became a member of the Oregon Senate.
