Biographical NoteReturn to Top

Alonzo Wardall was born in Iowa, 1845. During his lifetime, he was a Civil War soldier in the West; farmer in Mitchell County, Iowa; founder of a fraternal insurance plan named National Aid Association; worked with Rochdale Cooperative Movement in Kanses, California, and Washington (from 1903-1918); and secretary of the Northwest Cooperative Union. He died in Seattle in 1918.
