This collection contains research carried out by two Eastern Washington State College (EWSC) professors, H. Kenneth Hossom, Assistant Professor of Political Science, and James E. Brooks, Assistant Professor of Geography, concerning an election held on November 22, 1955 in Stevens County, Washington. The election involved the sale and control of public utilities between Washington Water Power Company and the Stevens County Public Utility District. The issue of who would manage those utilities was resolved by a majority vote favoring WWP control. Hossom and Brooks' research project was presented as a paper entitled "Power Policy at the Ballot Box." The collection includes correspondence, notes, news clippings, reports, and pamphlets and circulars.
