Biographical NoteReturn to Top

Frederick Greenwood was born in 1889 in La Crosse, Wisconsin. He eventually took up residence in Portland, Oregon, and became a prominent banker in the city. He headed the local branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco in the 1910s, and later became the manager of the Portland branch of the Bank of California. He was active in professional, civic, and cultural affairs, including the American Bankers Association and the Portland Symphony Orchestra.
