Biographical NoteReturn to Top

Angele Dimovski (1948-) is a kaval (aka shepherd's flute) player from the Skopje region of the Republic of Macedonia. During his youth, he studied under the famous kaval player Mile Kolarov and performed at festivals around the world. For 33 years he was a member of the Radio-TV Skopje Orchestra of Traditional Folk Instruments, first as a kaval player and later as a director. Dimovski has made a variety of recordings as a soloist that he has sold domestically and internationally.

Originally recorded by Judith Ellison with Nakamichi 550 (with Dolby) (stereo), Sony ECM-280 mics, TDK-SA tape.

Performers: Angele Dimovski/kaval; Trojanka Dimovska/voice; Jovance Dimovski/drone kaval, voice.

Archive sheets were completed by collector and contain fairly complete documentation of collection.

Note name change from Judith Ellison to Jordan Arthur Ellison.
